Holy shitballs!
Wow what a busy day I am having!! Ever have one of those? I do once in a while but not too often. Wow this one is a doozy!!!
Well I figured I would at least post something today. I really don't have much to talk about.
This Saturday my folks are coming over to watch Stinky because we're going to go to my X-mas party for work. It was fun last year but man...I gotta say, there are some stuffy fucking people that will be there. I don't know why people cannot just throw down and have fun. I am not saying you gotta drink or go absolutely nuts but COME ON!!! Why do these fucking walking boners need to sit there and act all super professional and talk about work and other assorted bullshit that nobody wants to hear about or talk about. Is it just me or is it like this everywhere?? I have no problem whatsoever yanking out my man-package and showing off a couple new dick tricks under the table. Now I know that's not appropriate at the company X-mas party but my point is....if I am willing to go that far why is it that nobody else can even just relax and talk about fun and funny shit?!?! Instead it always ends up being a bunch of fuck-sticks standing around playing grab-ass and talking about what a great job so and so did with this account and how Johnny Hogsnards did on that account!
All I know is that after the boring part of the X-mas party I am inviting a few of the fun people out to go with my wife and I to the karaoke bar. Yep, I am sure I will be singing some more James Brown and making a total ass of myself. I have no shame whatsoever so I figure why the hell not?!?!
Oh and I have a bitch I need to vent (I know...I always do). What's with these fucking people who you ask or tell to do something and they give you that, "It's not my job" bullshit. One of the first things I always tell people that work for me is that I will not tolerate the "it's not my job" bullshit. Especially here where I work....where our ultimate customer is the soldier. If it was up to me I would fire anyone who says, "it's not my job" but I can't so instead I come up with other ways to get to them. Bottom line is as soon as I hear someone say "it's not my job" I lose any and all respect for them that I might have had. I actually know a lot of people who agree with me on this. What do you think?
When the fuck did they start putting all the Christmas shows on so damn early in December? Didn't they have them on like the week before X-mas in the past? Why in the fuck are they so early now? Must be all the commercialization right?!?!
Speaking of commercialization.....what the fuck do the liberals have against Wal-Mart? More things for cheaper prices which helps stimulate the economy and create jobs?!?!?! No way....I am totally against it!!! Get the fuck outta here! I love hearing people rail on places like Wal-Mart because it shows how fucking ignorant they are. Then the next day they're in Wal-Mart X-mas shopping!
Okay, I am tired now so I am climbing down from my soapbox. I am going to go to the cafeteria now and get a double half-caf no-caf full-caf grande mocha latta double caf decaf frappawappaccino and a delicious side of brussel sprout, tree bark and ragweed salad.

I think those people just need more alcohol (a lot more). Not everyone can let loose and get naked on just a dare like you!! Wow, I miss the old Alcatel crowd. Did we have fun or what?
Walmart rocks!!
Yeah we did always have fun.
I don't shop at walmart because of the ethics of the company, how they have been *proven* to mistreat employees (not just on the media, I actually know people who weren't allowed to take breaks), and how they say 'Go America' yet EVERYTHING in their store is made in China or Taiwan. Yes, I complain about them but I have not shopped there in almost 2 years. We are considering giving up Target as well because of their refusal to donate to any american military organizations or salvation army. I'd rather shop locally and support the local economy and locally made goods.
Here's what I will say about the Wal-Mart issue (again, only my opinion): Every company I worked at I heard stories of mistreatment and unfair business practices. Fact is, every company has its share of unhappy employees who most certainly are NOT going to blame themselves for their station in life. I sympathize with truly mistreated employees and those who suffer from Enron type mismanagement but if I had a dollar for every gripe and whine I've heard about the corporate world I could have retired long ago. Not to say your friend's story is not true...it very well may be but the point is Wal-Mart is not the only company that has incidents like this. It doesn't make it right....but it also doesn't warrant them being singled out and forced to pay exhorbitant legal fees thus raising the price of goods for people who enjoy their services. You don't shop there and that's great in my opinion that you stand by your principles....more people should. As far as Target...I don't think they should be singled out for their unwillingness to donate to the military and/or salvation army. Sure if they donated to the military I'd love them for it. I would NEVER donate to the salvation army because of all the problems they've had and that obnoxious big red tripod-mounted bucket....oh and lest we forget....THE BELL! Good post thanks! It's nice to hear others' opinions!
I've always thought there should be stores that have items "Made in America" only. Unfortunately it would be pretty expensive and not everyone would not be able to afford it. Come to think about it, it would probably go out of business because of Walmart. But I still like Walmart.
Actually that's exactly what happened in the town I graduated high school in (small town in GA). When I was there we had 3 local bookstores. Unfortunately they all closed down because of wal mart and their 'low' prices. Yes they may have created jobs but they have also destroyed a lot of local business along the way (as well as caused many people to lose their jobs). We aren't going to stop shopping at Target because they won't donate to the military organizations but because of their attitude about it. May sound simple to others but they donate to a lot of social and local organizations (I have to give them credit for that) but when asked for a donation by a veteran's association they blatantly refused and said they refused to donate anything to any organization relating to the american military (what else could we expect from the french?). Just my two cents... but yes, we do stand by our principles and decisions. I've also stopped shopping at Bath and Body Works and started shopping at the Body Shop. Of course they are all corporate giants but the prices, to me, are not the bottom line. I'd rather pay a few cents (even dollars) more for something and have the peace of mind that someone earned a fair wage for it. Furthermore I don't have to feel guilty that the product I purchased is so cheap because a child in a third world country was forced to make it. I know you hate us liberals, Vinny, but we all have to stand for something, right? :)
Oh, and on a funny side note - I LOATHE the way wal mart uses the p.a. system and always has some chain-smoker with nasty phlegm in their throat making announcements. I prefer Target and their walkie-talkies... but it's all annoying.
I agree on the PA system thing. I am, admittedly, a cheap bastard so I dig the low low prices. And also child labor in 3rd world countries doesn't really keep me awake at night. Hey....it may sound bad but I am being totally honest. If there's one thing you should all know by now it is that I do not mask my feelings on this crazy blog thing! PLUS, I keep a few 10 year old in my shed and force them to do yardwork once in a while.
I didn't know about the attitude from Target. However, I shop there because they contribute 5% of every purchase I make online to Samantha's college fund through upromise (RED If you're gonna start a college fund I can hook you up!!!). Maybe I will have to re-look them now that I know about the attitude.
As far as American made stuff...I love it (except cars) but hey, we are a capitalist society and if you cannot figure out a way to minize manufacturing costs--thus lowering prices--you're going to suffer.
Know what I HATE about Wal-Mart? They spend all that money on the Corky bastard standing there greeting you...if they canned all the Corky's they could have even lower lower prices!!! HA! :)
Dude, I am going to hell.
Have you seen "Wal-Mart, The high price for low prices" or some catchy name like that??? It's pretty informative. I have feelings towards Wal-Mart that I will not express because I do still shop there. But only as a last resort. The new Super Wal-Mart here is so confusing and bass ackwards it's not even funny. Plus there are thousands of people there at once. It drives me nuts.
My Wal-Mart always has 10 million cars in the parking lot...then you go in and it's empty! Always empty. I LOVE it. I run through the aisles like a little boy high on smack and buy buy buy. Not to be confused with Bye-Bye-Bye the N'Sync classic about wounded relationships and lost love.
It's scary that you even know the song by N'Sync. Lol....
Wal-mart does tend to hire people who would have a difficult time finding jobs elsewhere (handicapped, elderly, and dodo's with no education. I mean zero, like didn't even finish junior high.)
Yes Lost you are right again....it is SCARY!
