There's a storm-a-brewin'!!!
So a tornado hit 20 miles north of NYC yesterday in Westchester County. Of course all the alarmists who have no idea of what they're talking about are screaming about global warming causing bizarre weather in unlikely areas. First of all, the tornado was tiny. Secondly, this is nothing new at all. When I was growing up around the Middletown area of NY (Orange County) there were small tornados every year or two. Now we can all look forward to hearing that every time there's a weather event, no matter how normal, it was caused by global warming.
Put a couple new songs on my I-Pod. "The Adventure" by Angels & Airwaves (the guy from Blink-182's new band); "Soul Craft" by Bad Brains (rastafarian hardcore group); "Smooth Operator - Live" by Sade (my theme song); "She Divines Water" by Camper Van Beethoven; "Hated for Loving" by Morrissey; "White Houses" and "Ordinary Day" by Vanessa Carlton and maybe a couple more. All good shit.
The TV show "Rockstar - Supernova" was a travesty last night. In the bottom 3 were 2 decent people and this chick from Puerto Rico who sucks a giant ass. Well they all performed again and the other two people did different songs than the night before and did them well. The Puerto Rican chick did the same song as the night before and stunk it up again....she was TERRIBLE. So the band picked one of the decent ones to leave the show and kept the chick. Tommy Lee must just want to get laid...that's the only logical explanation.
I started a new hobby. Every time I drive by someone in a car who's on their cell phone I honk my horn and flip them off. It's good fun pointing out what corn holes people are. By the way, I NEVER talk on my phone in the car so I am not a hippopotamus.....er um I mean hypocrite.
It's like Ice Cube says, "Life ain't nothing but bitches and money".

I don't think it's the cell phone's fault. Why would you flip it off? :) Come on, really.. .it's the jack ass who's driving. You can be just as distracted changing radio stations, messing with your hair, eating a burger, even having a person-to-person conversation in the car.
Do you not use the phone period or do you have a headset/blue tooth? I will admit that it's a little harder for me to drive when I am switching gears (you know I love my standard transmissions) and trying to hold the phone but most of the time I use my bluetooth.
Nah I don't talk on the phone while driving at all. If my phone rings/vibrates and I am expecting an important call I will pull over. Otherwise I just let it ring and check to see who it was when I get to where I am going. I don't think you're as distracted eating or drinking because they're more of a natural function. I believe a phone conversation is much more distracting....looking at the display to see who is calling, finding the button to answer, finding the hang up button, fumbling with the phone, etc. But in the end I guess it doesn't matter because the police don't enforce any of the cell phone laws anyway, at least in the northeast. Plus I almost had some jerkoff run into my car because they were yapping away on the phone and I must tell you, if anyone did that and anyone in my family was injured the person would be dead. Anyways, just a pet peeve of mine so I will continue in my journey to offend these offenders as much as I can. You know me, courteous is my middle name! :)
Okay, love my iPod. Which one do you have??? I have that little transmitter thing for my car, got it for my bday, it's really cool. I was thinking of doing some downloading today myself.
I freaking forgot about Rockstar last night. WTF????? I'll look it up and see what happened.
Okay, I'm not going to disagree with you about the cell phone thing, because I do think it is a distraction for some people while driving. But, your thing about not answering or pulling over to answer; really cracked me up because it seemed awful "Dean like." 10 & 2, keep those eyes on the road.
Vinny, do you use your ipod in the car? What about searching for songs or playlists? Eating a burger is a natural function but we naturally watch to make sure we aren't dropping the food into our laps or elsewhere, right? Like we try to pay attention to make sure we are putting it into our mouths so doing that while driving - to me- is just as dangerous because you might look down to wipe that ketchup off your pant leg meanwhile you crashed my car (and like you, I agree- if anyone in my family were hurt then the other driver will be even more hurt..)
I've seen people swerve becaues they dropped something and bent over to pick it up (like a CD or piece of paper or something). I don't know.. I'm just convinced that it's the person driving. A conversation to me is just as natural as eating a burger and I don't feel that I am any more distracted. Now, If my phone calls interfere with my ability to drive at the normal rate of speed then yes, I should hang up. I HATE seeing people in the fast lane, chatting on their damn phone and driving like fucking miss daisy. I flip them off too. As a rule I try to not drive and talk on my phone but if I'm expecting a call or it's my family I will not hesitate to answer. We don't have any of those laws here in TX. Then again, we still carry shotguns in our rear windows. lol.
I agree that it is the person more than the cell phone. However, when most people suck at driving under any conditions....the cell phone certainly does not help.
Liza I have the iPod mini. And please don't say I am like Dean....I don't leave work and drive all the way home to take a shit like he did.
