No Golf Today

Yep that's right I should be at the golf course right now. But that twat--mother nature--saw the need to provide yet another day of rain resulting in the postponement of the golf tournament. Where the fuck am I, London?!?!? We've had one sunny day in the last 2 fucking weeks. Unbelieveable. Anyway....how was everyone's Labor Day weekend? Mine sucked a giant cornhole. I wanted to get some stuff done around the house but with the weather I did not. Only 2 good things: 1) I got to spend tons of time with stinky which is always my favorite thing to do. 2) I went to check out the apartment building I am thinking about buying.

I was very VERY saddened over the weekend by the death of Steve Irwin....otherwise known as the Crocodile Hunter. I have all his videos and everything and LOVED the guy. The way he used to jump off his boat onto an alligator in the water....the guy was a fucking maniac! Anyway, he was stung right through the heart by a stingray while filming a documentary off the coast of Australia. You will be missed Steve Irwin.

Well, that's all for now...I guess I will just be relegated to playing my normal Wednesday afternoon golf tomorrow and see when they reschedule the Commander's Cup for. So, TOODLES!

Dang Vinny. Sorry about golf. It's been crap weather here too. It was pouring rain when I woke up this morning. I really almost didn't come to work.

I was sooooo upset about the Crocodile Hunter too. It's just awful. He's done so many crazy things in his career and a freek accident killed him. I really hate it for his wife and kids.

I would hope it has stopped raining there today because it seems that ALL the rain has just dropped in on us here. I left my home this morning and saw that it had rained a little but didn't get alarmed. About halfway into my hour long drive to school it started pouring and hasn't stopped since. That was at 730 this morning. I am soaking wet and pissed off at the world right now. Wet socks and shoes SUCK ass.

I was sad about Steve Irwin too but it shouldn't be a surprise.. he lived a life of danger. At least his kids will be able to watch videos of him and have nice memories of him.

Yep, looks like crap weather anywhere....Mother nature....that whore! Yeah I got rained on at work last Wed and had wet feet all day then went to play golf after work (because it stopped raining) and got home at 8pm. I was soaked all day and you're right it does suck ass....I should be used to it from my army days! LOL

Lost, you're right, Steve Irwin's death, though tragic, comes as no surprise. I thought he might get killed by a gator or a poisonous snake or something but a stingray?!?! WTF?!?! Yeah Liza I feel terrible for his family too....at least I am sure he left them well-provided for. I always wanted to go to Australia Zoo but now that Steve won't be there I am not sure I still want to go. Pretty damn sad. Crickey!

I hate that, being wet all day. Maybe you should carry a back up pair of shoes. I know, who thinks about that.

If that stingray had stung him anywhere else it would have been different. I just read a report that said he stood up and pulled the stinger out and then died. How freaking sad!!!

That's probably what killed him - him pulling it out. I mean, what could he do, right? The stingray would have pulled it out on his own as I'm sure their tails don't fall off but the tail, I read, is like a serrated knife in a way and did more damage on the way out than if it had just stayed there. Probably caused him to bleed out too.

Yeah, I don't think it helped by pulling it out but then again, like you said, the stingray may have done that anyway if it was still attached to its tail. Either way, what a freak fucking way to go!

No, the stingers detach just like a bee, in most cases. If you have ever been to an aquarium where they have stingrays you can pet, they have removed there stingers. I'm pretty sure they just snap off. I've done a little SCUBA diving and some of you may know, my boyfriend is a SCUBA insturctor. I've seen videos of him swimming over stingrays on the ocean floor and touching them. They usually just swim up and off. I've never even heard people talk about them stinging. I had no idea it happened.
